La comarca de Las Alpujarras incluye 48 municipios; 40 de ellos pertenecientes a la provincia de Granada y los ocho restantes a la de provincia de Almería. En 50s kilómetros se desciende desde más de tres mil metros hasta el nivel del mar, con los consiguientes cambios climáticos y vegetativos que ello conlleva, pudiéndose encontrar desde las pistas de nieve de Sierra Nevada hasta las cálidas aguas del mar mediterráneo. A lo largo del recorrido una desarrollada agricultura que incluye cereales, judías, patatas, castaños y cerezos, mezclada con plantaciones de olivos, naranjos, viñedos e incluso frutos tropicales donde abundan el chirimoyo, el
plátano
y el aguacate. Todo esto ha marcado profundamente la forma de ser del Alpujarra
en la provincia de Granada, o estilo de alpujarreño.

La luz "que lo envuelve todo", la claridad del aire de
